Art Supplies
Here is everything I will be using at the Build Your Art Journaling Toolkit Workshop.
Tempera Paint Sticks
I suggest having at least five to seven colors that you like together.
I will be using my set of 40 by Shuttle Art.
If you don’t have any or want to try a small set, I recommend these by Kwik Stix.
Acrylic Paint Pens
I am planning to use a set of 8 POSCA markers. I put all of my favorite sets here.
I also love Shuttle Art’s set of 36 acrylic paint pens with dot and fine tips - they are a great affordable alternative to the POSCA markers. I also love their set of 28 metallics.
Paper
I like to use mixed media paper for art journaling that’s 5.5 x 8.5 inches or 14 x 21.6 centimeters but a high-quality sketch paper would also work.
My favorite books for mixed media are by Canson XL and Ohuhu and I also love the Strathmore 400 series sketch paper.
A Pencil
A pen would also work but I like to use a pencil because I find it easier to cover.
Circle Stencil
I have this set of stencils. You can also gather a few small round lids in different sizes that will fit on your paper.
Tape (optional)
I love to use painter’s tape for taping off my borders. Masking tape also works well.
I will also have some 7 mm washi tape and 10 mm washi tape with me.
Tape is optional. You don’t have to tape off the borders if you don’t want to but I highly recommend it. And the washi tape will be for making a design on your page if you would like.
Hair Dryer
I am planning to have my hair dryer with me so I can speed up the drying process when we are together.
